Anambra-State Resident Ifeoma-Amarachukwu Ochiagha, Killed 2-Days After Marriage In Nnobi-Attack, Set For Burial (Details)

Mrs. Ifeoma Amarachukwu Ochiagha, a resident of Anambra State, who tragically lost her life in an attack by gunmen at Nnobi Junction last Monday, will be laid to rest this Thursday.

Amarachukwu was struck by a stray bullet during a firefight between vigilante operatives and armed assailants. The incident unfolded when vigilantes from Nnewi, acting on intelligence about an impending armed invasion through Nnobi, confronted the gunmen. The clash resulted in multiple fatalities, including the vigilante commander Mr. Eloka Ubajekwe and others, with Amarachukwu among the victims.

Having just celebrated her marriage the preceding Saturday, 22-year-old Amarachukwu’s life was abruptly ended. A burial poster, shared by her family and signed by her father, Mr. Timothy Ochiagha, confirmed the details of her passing.

A relative’s post mourned her sudden death: “One of the victims of the Nnobi/Nnewi Monday sit-at-home mayhem will be buried on Thursday. Amarachukwu, who got married on Saturday, met her sudden death (unknown gunmen) the next Monday. May your gentle soul rest in peace, Nwadiana.”

Reports suggest that the gunmen, suspected separatist elements, were attempting to enforce the abolished Monday sit-at-home protest in the South East.
