The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has paid a private visit to the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, at the monarch’s Rumfa Palace in Kano.

The purpose of the meeting was not immediately disclosed, as the APC national chairman and the traditional ruler held their discussions behind closed doors.

According to IREPORTERONLINE, the visit took place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A close associate of the Emir, Muhammad Dallatu, confirmed the meeting, saying Yilwatda visited Sanusi shortly after the monarch returned to Kano from Abuja.

Dallatu explained that the APC chairman paid a courtesy visit to the Emir before both men proceeded with a private discussion at the palace.

He, however, said details of the meeting had not been made public because of its closed-door nature.

The development comes amid the lingering dispute over the Kano emirship, which has continued to generate political and traditional tensions in the state.

The visit has therefore attracted attention, particularly with political activities gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
