APC Chieftain Petitions Party Leadership Over Minister’s Alleged Anti-Party Activities

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, William Nwanguma, has called on APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, to sanction Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkiruka Onyejeocha, over alleged anti-party activities…….READ MORE

In a petition to the party’s leadership, Nwanguma accused Onyejeocha of endorsing the re-election bid of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, of the Labour Party (LP). The endorsement reportedly took place on February 28, 2025, during a state road flag-off event in Umunneochi Local Government Area, the minister’s home base.

Nwanguma condemned Onyejeocha’s actions as a betrayal of the APC, warning that such conduct could weaken the party’s electoral chances in the 2027 general elections. He urged the APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) to investigate the matter and impose necessary sanctions if the allegations are confirmed.

The petition also emphasized that the APC in Abia State is gaining momentum with defections from opposition parties and that Onyejeocha’s support for Otti undermines the party’s goal of reclaiming the state in 2027.
