APC Sets Up Screening Panel, Releases Timetable For Governorship, NASS Aspirants

According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the timetable for the screening of aspirants seeking seats in the Senate and House of Representatives ahead of its primary elections for the 2027 general elections.

The party disclosed that the screening exercise for Senate aspirants is scheduled to hold from Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly Sheraton), Abuja. Similarly, aspirants vying for seats in the House of Representatives will undergo their screening within the same period, at Treasures Suites & Conferences, Abuja.

In a statement issued on Friday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, all aspirants were directed to appear promptly for the exercise and are expected to come along with all necessary documents and credentials for verification.

In a related development, the party also announced the composition of its Screening Committee for incumbent governors seeking re-election or aspiring for Senate positions. The committee will be chaired by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, while Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru will serve as Secretary, alongside other members of the National Working Committee.

According to a separate statement by the APC National Organizing Secretary, Muhammad Argungu, the screening for sitting governors will take place from Friday, May 8 to Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Plateau State Governors’ Lodge, commencing at 4:00 PM on the first day and 10:00 AM on the second day.

Argungu further stated that screening for other governorship aspirants is scheduled for Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the APC National Secretariat’s NWC Hall in Abuja, with proceedings set to begin daily at 10:00 AM.
