JAMB Extends Direct Entry Registration Deadline
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for the 2026 Direct Entry registration exercise to May 22, 2026.
According to Ireporter Online, the board said the extension is aimed at giving prospective candidates additional time to complete their registration and submit all required academic credentials and supporting documents needed for admission.
The decision comes amid reports that several applicants have been experiencing delays in obtaining their certificates and other essential paperwork required for the process. The extension is expected to ensure that affected candidates are not disadvantaged in the 2026 admission cycle.
This development marks another adjustment to the registration timeline, following an earlier shift of the deadline to May 8. JAMB had also approved additional accredited registration centres nationwide to ease congestion and improve access for applicants.
Candidates have been urged to complete their registration early to avoid last-minute challenges such as network disruptions, overcrowding at centres, and incomplete documentation.
Meanwhile, preparations continue ahead of the 2026 admission policy meeting scheduled for May 11, where key stakeholders are expected to deliberate on admission guidelines and procedures for tertiary institutions across the country.
