Addressing President Bola Tinubu’s decision to suspend Edu, Mumuni called for prudence in public discussions about the president’s actions, emphasizing that baseless speculations and criticisms could undermine the national interest and impede the ongoing legal process.

Additionally, the APC chieftain defended President Tinubu’s initial appointment of Edu, deeming it a progressive move, considering her status as both a woman and a youth. Mumuni argued that the president’s suspension of Edu in the face of allegations should be commended, showcasing a commitment to accountability and good governance.

The renowned author and security expert, a former gubernatorial candidate of the defunct Congress of Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011 in Lagos State, praised Tinubu for appointing a female minister and lauded the suspension as a commendable step in addressing allegations of diverting public funds into a private account.
