Army Chief Declares All-Out War On Terrorists And Bandits

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has called on Nigerian Army personnel to strengthen their offensive against insurgents and bandits.

During an operational visit to the 402 Special Forces Brigade Headquarters in Kaduna on Monday, General Oluyede commended the Brigade for its outstanding role in securing the Kaduna-Abuja road and rail corridor.

Welcomed with a ceremonial Quarter Guard reception, the Army Chief received an in-depth briefing on the Brigade’s operations and challenges. Addressing the troops, he emphasized the importance of sustained action against terrorists, insurgents, and other criminal elements, assuring them of his commitment to addressing their operational challenges promptly.

Oluyede pledged to improve the welfare and accommodation of personnel, stressing that every soldier deserves adequate support. He encouraged the officers to lead with courage and resilience in confronting security threats while acknowledging the critical role the 402 SF Brigade plays in the Army’s overall security strategy.

“The demand for the 402 Special Forces Brigade across various units underscores your exceptional performance,” he stated.

According to Army spokesman Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the visit was aimed at boosting troop morale and operational preparedness, reaffirming Oluyede’s dedication to maintaining the Army’s resolute stance against security challenges.

The visit also included the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, key Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters, and the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army.
