The Agege Peoples Front (APF), an advocacy group based in his constituency, is spearheading efforts to investigate his assets. Reports suggest the APF is compiling a dossier to present to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), detailing alleged property acquisitions and financial transactions linked to Obasa.

Renewed Hope United Kingdom, a diaspora advocacy group, highlighted the APF’s commitment to transparency and good governance via its platform on X (formerly Twitter). The group aims to uncover the extent of Obasa’s wealth accumulation during his time in office.

Obasa, who served as Speaker from 2015 and represented Agege Constituency I since 2003, faced numerous controversies, including accusations of managing multiple bank accounts and authorizing unauthorized expenditures. His impeachment has also attracted the attention of anti-corruption agencies, with prior investigations into his financial dealings reportedly underway.
