Asue Ighodalo Denies Involvement In Philip Shaibu’s Impeachment Saga
In response to recent allegations made by former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, Asue Ighodalo’s media team issued a press statement vehemently denying any involvement in the impeachment process. The statement, released on April 29, 2024, aims to set the record straight and address what they deem as baseless accusations.
According to the press statement, Mr. Ighodalo had no role or participation in the highly publicized impeachment and subsequent removal of Mr. Shaibu from office by the Edo State House of Assembly. The claims made by Shaibu are dismissed as entirely without merit, and Mr. Ighodalo distances himself from any association with such events. The statement suggests that Shaibu’s allegations are an attempt to tarnish Ighodalo’s reputation unjustly and divert attention from other pressing matters.
The media team urges both the public and the media to disregard these allegations, emphasizing Ighodalo’s focus on running a governorship campaign centered on issues and devoid of distractions.

While we would not usually join issues in response to every passing comment, it has become imperative to address the recent spurious allegations by former Deputy Governor Phillip Shaibu.
It is necessary for the record, and to state in no uncertain terms, that Mr. Asue Ighodalo had no role or involvement in any form whatsoever in the very public process leading to Mr. Shuaibu’s impeachment and subsequent removal from office by the Edo State House of Assembly.
The claims by Comrade Philip Shaibu, the erstwhile Deputy Governor of Edo State, are completely without merit, and Mr. Ighodalo categorically distance himself from any such involvement. These allegations are clear attempt to unjustly tarnish his reputation and divert attention from the actual issues at hand.
We urge the public and the media to disregard these false statements.
Asue Ighodalo remains focused on running a governorship campaign based on issues, and devoid of distractions.
