“Atiku’s Inner Circle Can’t Deliver Votes – APC Strategist Declares!”

A former National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ussiju Medaner, has asserted that former Vice President and perennial presidential contender, Atiku Abubakar, lacks the political structure and strategy necessary to win a general election.

According to iReporter Online, Medaner made this claim during an interview on Friday morning while speaking on a national television programme.

Medaner emphasized that Atiku has consistently demonstrated skill in securing presidential tickets but has failed to surround himself with capable allies who can deliver electoral victory.

“Elections are not won through noise-making; they require strategic planning and a winning team. Atiku knows how to get a ticket, but he doesn’t have people who can win an election for him,” he said, drawing a comparison to his own experience supporting President Muhammadu Buhari during the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) era.

According to iReporter Online, Medaner’s remarks were in response to growing concerns over the strength of the opposition, particularly Atiku’s reported defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a move that has been dismissed by some APC leaders as political theatrics.

Meanwhile, the internal developments within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continue to stir political commentary. Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, a Lagos-based PDP chieftain and former member of the Atiku 2023 campaign, also weighed in on the matter.

He stated that while Atiku may easily clinch the ADC presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections, he remains unelectable on that platform. According to iReporter Online, Pearse criticized Atiku’s recent political maneuvers, stating that they have damaged his brand and further weakened his national appeal.

Pearse expressed confidence that many of those defecting to the ADC would soon regret their decision and return to the PDP, describing the defections as miscalculations.

He highlighted the just-concluded PDP National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja as a sign of renewed strength and internal unity. The meeting, which set November 15–16 as the dates for the party’s national elective convention in Ibadan, reportedly laid a strong foundation for the PDP’s repositioning ahead of the 2027 elections.

Pearse, who also leads the Reset Lagos PDP group, likened the party’s internal disputes to issues within a marriage, emphasizing that resolution—not abandonment—is the answer.

“PDP does not have the structural problems plaguing other parties. We are built on democratic principles, and we elect our leaders. The party is stable, and those leaving are simply misinformed,” he added.

Additionally, he described the PDP’s recent decision to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South as a strategic masterstroke. Pearse noted that this move offers the best chance to defeat the incumbent APC government led by President Bola Tinubu.
