“Culture Meets Governance: Makinde Becomes Aare Omoluabi For Exceptional Service!”

A prominent group of Nigerian professionals in the diaspora, under the aegis of the Omituntun Initiative in the Diaspora (OID), has described the conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy title Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom on Governor Seyi Makinde as a well-deserved recognition of his cultural advocacy, people-focused leadership, and unwavering dedication to public service.

The traditional honour, bestowed by the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, CFR, during a high-profile event in the Ondo State capital, was also extended to the governor’s wife, Tamunominini Makinde, who received the title Yeye Aare Omoluabi, further highlighting the couple’s shared devotion to societal progress and cultural preservation.

According to iReporter Online, the OID applauded the honour, describing it as a clear affirmation of Governor Makinde’s integrity, humility, and transformational leadership across critical sectors in Oyo State.

The group emphasized that his consistent efforts to elevate traditional institutions and cultural values have distinguished him as a national figure of honour and virtue.

In a statement released by its spokesperson, Barrister Ayotomiwa Adebayo, OID stated that Governor Makinde’s leadership ethos—grounded in equity, dignity, and transparency—has earned him not only domestic admiration but also commendation from Nigerians across the globe.

“This recognition goes beyond a title. It is a symbol of Governor Makinde’s character as a true Omoluabi—one who embodies honour, discipline, and service,” the group said.

The OID North America Chairman, Mogaji Kayode Ogunsola, further remarked that the governor’s political ascendancy and achievements are “divinely orchestrated,” noting that his ability to govern effectively despite his background in engineering is a testament to the power of visionary leadership.
