Aye Cultists Kill Former Park Revenue Collector, Burn Corpse
Waheed Abioye, a former Osun State Park revenue collector, was killed by suspected cultists who also burned his body in a bush in Osogbo.
According to The Nation, Waheed was abducted on Tuesday by Aye confraternity cultists and taken to an undisclosed location where he was allegedly killed.
It was learned that Waheed, an ally of the chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Kazeem Oyewale, a loyalist to Adegboyega Oyetola’s administration, was taken to the cultists’ den and tortured to death by chopping off his right leg.

The injury he received caused him to lose a lot of blood, which resulted in his death. Waheed’s assailants burned his body before fleeing the scene.
Confirming the incident, Osun Police Command spokesperson Yemisi Opalola stated that its operatives received information that on December 13, 2022, at approximately 9:40 p.m., some unidentified armed men brought one man, later identified by his wife as Abioye Waheed, to a refuse dump site in the Arikalamu area of Osogbo.
“Furthermore, Abioye Waheed was burnt to death beyond recognition by the unknown armed men who also cut off his right leg. The corpse has been removed by Olorunda by Olorunda LGA environmental agency to UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Mortuary as further investigation is ongoing to arrest and prosecute the offenders.”
