Believe What You Desire As BBC Vindicates Tinubu From Forgery Allegations.

By Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah

Human nature often inclines people to embrace what they desire, regardless of the factual evidence presented to them. This tendency suggests that personal preferences and biases can significantly influence one’s perception and acceptance of information, sometimes leading individuals to prioritize their wishes over established truths.

It underscores the complex interplay between emotions and rationality in human decision-making, reminding us that our desires can be a powerful force in shaping our beliefs and actions.

The BBC has exonerated Tinubu in the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s academic records and addresses several key points that exonerate him from allegations of forging his college diploma:

1. The BBC’s Global Disinformation Team found no evidence to support claims that President Tinubu’s diploma submitted to Nigeria’s electoral commission was forged.

2. The release of President Tinubu’s academic records was a result of a legal case initiated by one of his political rivals, Atiku Abubakar, who accused him of diploma falsification.

3. Chicago State University (CSU) provided various diplomas, some similar to President Tinubu’s, in response to legal requests.

4. Discrepancies between the diplomas submitted to INEC and those released by CSU were attributed to the re-issuance of diplomas in the 1990s and the evolving template for diplomas over the years.

5. Claims that CSU diplomas do not include the phrase “with honors” were debunked, as President Tinubu’s diploma from the early 2000s did contain this phrase.

6. Allegations that a person named Bola A Tinubu who attended CSU was female were refuted, with CSU confirming the student’s male identity.

7. Discrepancies in birth dates and secondary school attendance were attributed to possible human error.

Even after presenting these facts some sectors of Nigerians are still lamenting that the President forged his certificate  and mastubating  on it, where if that is how they intend to receive doctored facts should be left to them.

The country has moved on and what these few people whose hearts are filled with hatred wants to believe is left for them, it is time for the country to move on from such petty distractions and begin to demand for the appropriate performance from the government.
