The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded more than 63 per cent of the results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV), as the official collation process continues.

According to Ireporter Online, results from 2,390 out of the 3,763 polling units across the state had been uploaded to the platform, representing 63.51 per cent of the total results expected.

The development provides voters, political parties and other stakeholders with access to polling unit results as INEC continues the process of collating the figures from the 30 local government areas of Osun State.

The major contenders in the election include incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Najeem Salaam.

Meanwhile, the Accord Party has secured another notable polling unit victory after being declared winner at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area.

The polling unit is associated with former Osun Deputy Governor and former APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

Results uploaded on the IReV portal showed Accord polling 131 votes to emerge victorious, while the APC recorded 85 votes. The ADC finished third with 10 votes.

The latest figures remain provisional polling unit results, with the final outcome of the governorship election subject to INEC’s official collation and declaration.
