Ibrahim Muhammad, a local resident, recounted the grisly scene to reporters, detailing how the feud for supremacy between the opposing groups descended into chaos, claiming numerous lives.

According to Muhammad, the conflict erupted when a marauding band of criminals from neighboring Katsina State attempted to abduct villagers in Zamfara. However, in a twist of fate, notorious bandit leader Ado Alero, a native of the area, intervened to protect his community, sparking a fierce gun battle between the rival gangs.

Eyewitnesses reported a relentless exchange of gunfire, resulting in a staggering number of casualties on both sides. Villagers, forced to flee for safety, witnessed the violent confrontation unfold before their eyes.

Muhammad revealed, “The two bandit gangs engaged themselves in operation fire-for-fire as they started shooting at each other, while the residents were running for their lives.”

Amidst the chaos, the lifeless bodies of slain bandits littered the battlefield, a grim testament to the ferocity of the confrontation. Additionally, the aftermath revealed approximately 30 abandoned motorcycles, serving as eerie remnants of the deadly clash.
