Boxing Day Tragedy: 2 Dead, 15 Injured

Mrs. Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the FRSC in Ogun, confirmed the details of the incident on Thursday in Abeokuta. The accident occurred at 4:34 p.m.

Okpe explained that a tyre burst led to the driver losing control, causing the bus to overturn and crash.

There were 18 people on board the bus, registered under the number LSR 585 YH, which included nine men, five women, two boys, and two girls.

According to Okpe, the injured victims comprised eight men, four women, two boys, and one girl, while the deceased included one man and one woman. The injured were transported to PATMAG Hospital in Ogere, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the State General Hospital morgue in Isara.

She urged motorists to exercise heightened caution with their vehicles, especially during this busy travel period.
