Chanting slogans and holding signs demanding involvement in the Afghan government, the women reportedly called for constitutional law.
A Taliban guard was said to have tried to stop the women but they refused to back down.
The protest comes amid heightened fears over security under Taliban rule.
After seizing power two weeks ago, Taliban spokesperson, Zabiullah Mujahid, asked women not to go to work for their own safety.
Mujahid had said the guidance to stay at home would be temporary, and would allow the group to find ways to ensure that women are not “treated in a disrespectful way” or “God forbid, hurt.”
There have been different forms of resistance since Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

Last week, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF), an anti-Taliban resistance group, declared that it was set for battle.
NRF fighters and the Taliban have been involved in clashes since then.
