leaving one student dead.

Reports indicate that the explosion occurred around noon on Monday, injuring four other students.

A source who spoke with Premium Times revealed that emergency responders, including the police bomb disposal unit, quickly arrived at the scene, and the injured victims were rushed to the hospital.

The source further stated that the deceased student, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, was found with what appeared to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which detonated and caused the explosion. The explosion created chaos at the school.

The affected students had only recently enrolled at the school, with classes resuming on January 3, 2025.

As of the time of writing, neither the school authorities nor Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Command of the Nigeria Police, has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
