BREAKING: Senate Speaks On Cutting Down Expenses Amid Economic Hardship
The Senate has firmly rejected the idea of reducing expenses within the National Assembly, despite the economic challenges resulting from the removal of fuel subsidies.
Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, conveyed this stance to journalists in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Monday.

He emphasized that the National Assembly is not accountable for any economic hardships experienced in Nigeria.
Senator Adaramodu pointed out the many essential roles that lawmakers fulfill, including committee work and oversight responsibilities, without any attached allowances. He firmly asserted that calls for a reduction in expenses within the National Assembly lack validity.
Senator Adaramodu made these statements shortly after the tribunal upheld his electoral victory against Senator Biodun Olujimi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
