The tragedy unfolded at Number 9, Dr. Fabian Nwaora Street, Efab Estate, where an explosion from a drum of diesel in the backyard ignited the fire, sources revealed.

Eyewitnesses, including occupants of the building, passersby, and personnel from the Federal Fire Service, fought bravely to extinguish the inferno, but their efforts were not enough to save the lives of the victims.

Authorities confirmed that the deceased have been evacuated to the morgue, marking a somber end to the harrowing ordeal.
