Charity Uyimwen Amayaenvbo’s Vision For Ovia Federal Constituency: Empowering Youth Through Innovation

Charity Uyimwen Amayaenvbo, a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, has shared a bold vision for Ovia Federal Constituency inspired by his recent experience at the AsiaGlobal Institute in Hong Kong, China. During his fellowship program, Charity and eleven other fellows from across the world explored innovative ideas aimed at fostering growth and development. A key highlight of this program was Hong Kong’s “Smart City” initiative, where young talents are supported and nurtured in their chosen crafts.

In this Smart City, youths are housed and encouraged to develop their innovative skills. Upon completion of their program, the government invests in their talents by providing them with startup funding, ensuring they become productive members of society. This model sparked a critical question in Charity’s mind: “Why can’t we implement this in Nigeria, Edo, or my beloved Ovia Federal Constituency?”

Charity believes the time has come to shift the mindset of the youth from the popular slogan, “It’s a chair, clear road for chair,” to one of innovation and productivity. With Edo State undergoing a transformation, Charity is determined to push for this change in Ovia. His vision is clear: to create opportunities for young people, harness their potential, and empower them to contribute meaningfully to society.
