Foluke Daramola, Nollywood Stars Bid Emotional Farewell To Tope Osoba

Nollywood actress Tope Osoba has been laid to rest in Ogun State following a funeral service held in her honour on Thursday.

According to Ireporter Online, the late actress’ remains were moved from the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu to Akesan Club in Iperu Remo, where family members, friends and colleagues gathered to pay their final respects.

The funeral was attended by several Nollywood personalities, including Foluke Daramola, Kunle Afod, Joke Jigan and Basira Badia.

Mourners, many of whom were dressed in white, gathered to honour the late actress before her remains were interred at the Iperu Remo Cemetery.

Osoba’s death was announced on August 5, 2026, nearly two years after she underwent breast cancer surgery in November 2024.

Her family had initially announced plans to bury her on August 13 after organising a candlelight procession and an artiste tribute night in her memory.

However, the burial was later postponed as the family said it needed more time to conclude arrangements and address outstanding issues before the final rites.

Following her death, several claims emerged on social media concerning the circumstances surrounding her passing, with some alleging that emotional distress may have contributed to her death.

Allegations were also made against her fiancé, Itunu Onadeko, and members of his family, with claims that she was mistreated during her period of illness.

The Celestial Church of Christ, where Onadeko reportedly serves as a shepherd, subsequently announced that it had commenced an internal investigation into issues surrounding the allegations and circumstances linked to Osoba’s death.

Before becoming an actress, Osoba began her journey in the entertainment industry as a dancer before moving into Nollywood in the early 2000s.

She featured in several productions during her career, including Gucci Girls, Accident and Ifedolapo, earning recognition among audiences and colleagues in the Nigerian film industry.
