Chicago State University Takes Fresh Action Over Tinubu’s Certificate

Chicago State University (CSU) has taken the step of setting its X handle (formerly known as Twitter) to private mode.

While the university hasn’t officially provided a statement explaining this action, reports suggest that the decision may be linked to the surge of inquiries and criticisms from opposition supporters surrounding the controversy over President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic credentials.

This controversy is now undergoing legal proceedings in a United States court.

In this context, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria’s 2023 elections, has filed a petition in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, requesting access to details of Tinubu’s academic records at CSU.

Atiku had issued a subpoena to CSU, compelling them to provide access to Tinubu’s academic records in the belief that such information could clarify the uncertainties regarding the President’s educational background.

However, amidst numerous criticisms and numerous inquiries from Nigerians, CSU made the decision to restrict access to its X page on Tuesday.
