Nollywood actor Clinton Joshua has spoken about why he avoids kissing scenes in films, saying his decision is driven by the long-term direction he wants for his acting career.

According to Ireporter Online, the actor made this known during an interview with TVC, where he explained that he is intentional about the kind of roles he accepts in order not to be typecast in the industry.

Joshua noted that repeatedly performing romantic kissing roles could make filmmakers continue to cast him in similar characters, a pattern he says he is trying to avoid as he builds his brand in Nollywood. He emphasized that he is mindful of the image he projects on screen and the professional path he wants to follow.

“If I’m good at it, producers will likely give me the same role over and over again and I don’t want to kiss half the girls in Nollywood,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has shared her perspective on intimacy scenes in films, stating that kissing and hugging scenes are no different from other acting roles.

According to Ireporter Online, Etinosa made this known in an interview with Punch, where she addressed ongoing discussions about how romantic scenes are performed in Nollywood productions.

She explained that professional actors are expected to fully embody their characters and easily step out of them once filming ends, adding that she does not attach personal emotions to such scenes.
