The match began on a sour note for Enyimba, as Nigerian forward Rume Akporoh put the Black Bulls ahead just 15 minutes in. Enyimba now faces the challenge of turning things around in their remaining matches, including a tough encounter against the Black Bulls and daunting fixtures against Al Masry at home and Zamalek in Egypt.

Compounding their struggles, Enyimba’s form in both domestic and continental competitions has been poor. They are currently on a five-match winless streak, with their last victory dating back to October 27, when they narrowly defeated Ikorodu City 2-1. In the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), they are in a difficult spot, sitting in 10th place with 22 points, although they have played three fewer games than many of their rivals.
