In a statement issued by its National President, Dr. Niyi Sunmonu, the union categorically dismissed speculations circulating on social media suggesting that it was part of any industrial action. He urged members of the union to continue performing their academic and administrative duties diligently, attend to students, and uphold professional standards. Sunmonu clarified that the union currently has no basis to declare any industrial dispute, explaining that although CONUA was initially excluded from the renegotiation committee of the 2009 Agreement inaugurated in October 2024, the issue had since been addressed by the Federal Ministry of Education.
