Delta Lawyer, Engineer Abducted from Home as Kidnappers Demand ₦100m Ransom
In a troubling case of abduction, a Delta-based lawyer, Emeka Irogboli, and a solar panel engineer working at his residence were kidnapped by gunmen on Thursday in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the incident via social media, the victims were taken from Irogboli’s home, which is located in a secluded, bushy area over 20 minutes away from town.
The abductors have reportedly demanded a ransom of ₦100 million and have issued threats to kill the victims if their demands are not met.
Gwamnishu has urged the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), especially its Delta chapter, to intervene and support the victims’ families in exploring rescue options.
Delta State Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe confirmed that authorities are aware of the case and are addressing the situation.
Residents have been advised to improve their personal security as kidnapping cases continue to rise in parts of the state.
