Delta Police Foil Robberies: Suspect Killed, Arms Seized In School Raid; Tricycle-Robbers Apprehended

In a swift and decisive operation, the Delta State Police Command thwarted multiple robbery attempts, resulting in the death of a suspected armed robber and the recovery of dangerous weapons, alongside the arrest of tricycle-robbers.

The dramatic incident unfolded at the Play Learn Academy School in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, where police operatives engaged in a fierce gun battle with suspected armed robbers.

Responding to persistent reports of robbery incidents in the area, the police launched a raid at Redeem Road, Okpanam town. During the operation, an intense exchange of gunfire ensued, leading to the demise of one suspect. However, his accomplices managed to evade capture, fleeing the scene.

From the slain suspect, law enforcement recovered an English Pump Action gun and a cut-to-size single barrel gun, along with three cartridges, further underscoring the gravity of the situation.

DSP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the injured suspect succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment in a hospital.

In a separate incident highlighting the vigilance and responsiveness of the police, operatives of the Orerokpe Police Division swiftly apprehended two suspected armed robbers accused of robbing a lady after pushing her from a moving keke (tricycle) in Okudiete community, Okpe local government area.

Following the victim’s report, law enforcement sprang into action, resulting in the arrest of two suspects. Although one managed to evade capture, the diligent efforts of the operatives led to the recovery of all the items stolen from the victim, including the tricycle with REG NO: ASB56QD.
