Nollywood actress Judy Austin has called on young women to resist societal pressure to marry early, emphasizing the importance of emotional and mental readiness before committing to marriage.

Speaking candidly from personal experience, the actress highlighted the dangers associated with early marriage, noting that many young women who rush into matrimony often face divorce or the difficulty of raising children alone.

According to Ireporter Online, Austin, in a video shared via her Instagram page, cautioned against marrying out of obligation—particularly when pregnancy is involved—stressing that such decisions frequently result in long-term regret. She urged women to take time to reflect on whether they can truly spend the rest of their lives with their chosen partners.

The actress underscored the need for self-development and maturity before marriage, advising women to explore life, build emotional resilience, and strengthen their faith in God. She noted that focusing on personal growth, independence, and professional stability would help women make wiser choices in relationships and family life.

Austin lamented that early marriage has left lasting scars on many women, revealing that some have abandoned their children or struggled silently due to the overwhelming pressures that come with premature marital responsibilities.

Reflecting on her own journey, Judy Austin, who married actor Yul Edochie as his second wife in April 2022 and shares three children with him, recalled that her first marriage, which began at a young age, ended in 2013.
