EASTER CELEBRATION: PROF IHONVBERE CALLS FOR PEACE, TOLERANCE AND FORGIVENESS AMONG CITIZENS.
As Nigeria and the rest of the world celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Member Representing Owan Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Basic Education & Services, Hon. Prof. Julius O. Ihonvbere, OON, has called for peace, tolerance and forgiveness among citizens.
In an Easter message, the Lawmaker urged Christian faithful and Nigerians of other faiths to use the Easter celebration to rededicate themselves to the virtues of forgiveness and reconciliation, which he said were the essence of the ministry of Jesus while he was on earth.
“I urge Christians around the globe, to be guided by the ideals, principles and virtues that Jesus Christ lived and died for, in their lives and conducts. This promises a renewed hope and happiness as we learn from the pain, love and care which characterize the period of Lent and the Easter celebration”.
“I pray for peace and prosperity for all Nigerians and urged them to enjoy a stress-free and violence-free celebration”.
Prof. Ihonvbere, further stressed the need to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and sacrifice for one another, stating that development and growth can only occur in the nation when all tribes and tongues unite and speak with one voice.
