Ebonyi Gov’s Aide Abducted, Kidnappers Demand N30m Ransom
Mrs. Blessing Adagba, a top aide to Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, has been kidnapped, with her captors demanding a ransom of ₦30 million for her release.
Adagba, who serves as the coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu Local Government Area, was abducted early Thursday morning in Okposhi Eheku community.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the incident on Friday. He revealed that the Anti-Kidnapping Squad has already begun operations aimed at rescuing the victim.
“We are on the case,” Ukandu said. “The squad is making every effort to ensure Mrs. Adagba’s safe and swift return.”
The incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity in Ebonyi and surrounding areas, with residents calling for increased protection of government officials and local leaders.
