Edo APC Leadership Tussle: Court Strikes Out Anselm Ojezua’s Case Against APC State Chairman Col David Imuse

It appears the crisis of the All Progressives Congress (,APC), in Edo State has come to an end,as an Edo State High Court Sitting in Benin City, Presided over by the Hon Justice Peter Ahinkero has struck out Suit No : B/177C/2019:Anselm Ojezua Esq. and others vs Col. David Imuse (RTD) and others, the suit filed by the former faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC), loyal to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.

This was sequel to the filing of a Motion for Discontinuance on their behalf by the Law Firm of K.E. Mozia SAN and Co ., where there were depositions on Oath the Anselm Ojezua, Kenneth Asekome and others are no longer members of the APC.

Douglas Ogbankwa Esq. Leading Famous Osawaru Esq did not Oppose the Application made by the team of Lawyers of the Plaintiff led by Aghomon Enahoro and the Presiding Judge- Justice Peter Ahinkero promptly made the Order striking off the Suit.

It will be recalled that there was a protracted legal battle for the soul of the APC in Edo State, for which the Court of Appeal, Benin recently gave Judgment in favour of the APC as it concerns the relocation of its Secretariat, which the Court said among other things pertains to the Internal Affairs of a Political Party, for which a Court can only dabble into on the exceptions provided by law which the Court stated does not exist. The Court agreeing with the submission of Anderson Asemota Esq , who argued the Appeal filed by Dr. Ehiogie West- Idahosa and others on behalf of the APC, therefore, set aside the Judgment of Justice A A. Demi- Ajayi , of the Federal High Court 2, Benin City and affirmed the Power of a Political Party to relocate its Secretariat, following the laid down procedure on the issue.
