Edo Man Arrested For Killing Brother Over Disagreement
The Edo State Police Command announced on Friday that one Iyayi Omokaro has been arrested for killing his brother, Friday Omokaro, following a disagreement on Tuesday.
In a statement, Police Spokesman Moses Yamu confirmed that the incident occurred in Uzalla Community, Uhunmwonde, Benin. According to Yamu, Friday was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. Iyayi has been apprehended and has admitted to committing the crime….READ MORE…..
The statement reads, “On March 25, 2025, at approximately 3:30 pm, the police received a report from Uzalla Community about the murder of 38-year-old Friday Omokaro. Police and vigilante officers responded to the scene and rushed the victim to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead. The weapon used in the attack, a cutlass, was also recovered.”
The preliminary investigation revealed that the fatal altercation stemmed from a disagreement between the two brothers, which escalated into a physical confrontation. During the fight, Iyayi used a cutlass to fatally wound his elder brother. Iyayi has since been arrested, taken into custody, and will face legal proceedings following the ongoing investigation.
