Speaking to journalists on Saturday in Abuja, the former Chief of Staff to the Imo State government argued that it would be inappropriate for the North to reclaim the presidency in 2027, considering that former President Muhammadu Buhari, a northerner, served a full two terms.

“It is both unfair and unjust to suggest that power should return to the North in 2027,” Nwosu stated. “I firmly support the South completing its eight years. President Bola Tinubu, who is from the South, is currently in office, so why should discussions about power shifting back to the North even arise now?”

He added, “After Buhari’s eight years, it is only fair that the South is allowed to complete the same before any conversation about power rotation begins.”

Addressing the push for power to shift specifically to the South-East, Nwosu urged patience, stressing that President Tinubu should first be allowed to conclude his tenure.
