Father Claims Ilebaye Refused Him Money, Yet Sprayed At Cross’ Wedding

In an audio recording shared on social media by journalist Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme on Sunday, Odiniya stated that the dispute stemmed from his request for financial assistance ahead of a scheduled medical trip to Dubai. He explained that he approached his daughter for a temporary loan, noting that expected funds had not yet been received, but alleged that she declined his request.

He said he had asked his daughter to lend him money for the trip, but she informed him that she did not have the resources at the time. Odiniya further claimed that about a week before the conversation, his daughter had been seen spraying large sums of money at a colleague’s wedding, adding that the colleague is known as Cross.

While clarifying that he had no issue with her supporting friends and colleagues, he expressed concern over what he described as a lack of support for him as her father, questioning whether it was wrong for a child to assist a parent in need.

The development comes shortly after Odiniya was reportedly arrested over allegations of assault involving his daughter at their residence in Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye, Abuja. The incident gained widespread attention on Saturday following a viral video showing Ilebaye in tears with visible facial injuries as she called for help during the altercation.
