FRSC personnel, with assistance from local residents, had to dismantle parts of the vehicle to recover the bodies, which were later deposited at the State Specialist Hospital Morgue in Ifo.

Preliminary findings by the corps suggested that overloading may have contributed to the tragic incident.

Reacting to the crash, Ogunjobi advised motorists plying the Abeokuta–Lagos corridor to remain cautious, especially during night journeys, while also extending condolences to the families of the deceased.
