The move comes after the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) intervened in the situation. Acting Executive Vice Chairman of the FCCPC, Adamu Abdullahi, announced the reopening of the store on Saturday, February 17.

Federal Government Takes Action To Address Rising Prices Of Foodstuff

The decision to seal the premises was made after FCCPC operatives visited Sahad Stores and found evidence of deceptive pricing practices. Despite warnings, the store allegedly continued its unfair pricing, prompting the temporary closure.

However, following discussions and assurances from Sahad Stores management to adhere to transparent pricing practices, the FCCPC decided to lift the seal. The store was reopened on February 16, around 7 p.m., signaling a resolution to the pricing dispute.
