FG Blames Technical Glitches for Delay in June Salaries, Vows Immediate Resolution
The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has attributed the non-payment of June 2025 salaries to federal civil servants to technical disruptions during the salary processing phase, especially involving accounts with Zenith Bank.
This clarification was issued on Friday by OAGF spokesperson Bawa Mokwa, following widespread complaints from public sector workers over the delay.
According to Mokwa, investigations revealed that a network glitch interfered with salary processing across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), resulting in failed or delayed disbursements.
“The salary payments for employees across MDAs were affected due to a technical network glitch during the processing of salaries at the bank,” the OAGF said in its statement.
Acknowledging the stress and frustration the issue has caused, particularly considering workers’ financial responsibilities, the office issued a formal apology and emphasized that urgent steps are being taken to reprocess the failed transactions.
“We deeply regret the inconvenience this has caused. We are working with service providers and stakeholders to reprocess payments without further delay,” the office assured.
The OAGF also urged affected federal staff to remain calm, stating that concrete efforts are in motion to isolate the issue and ensure prompt disbursement of the outstanding salaries.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency, the OAGF pledged to improve its systems and maintain open communication with stakeholders.
The statement concluded with a reassurance that the welfare of government employees remains a top priority, and no effort would be spared to uphold payroll integrity moving forward.
