According to Ireporter Online, the Federal Government has called on Nigerian youths to embrace automotive innovation as part of efforts to strengthen national development and accelerate the country’s technological advancement. Officials say this push aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, and the transformation of Nigeria’s automotive sector.

Speaking in Ibadan at the ‘Youth Empowerment through Automotive Innovation 2025 Conference,’ the Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiative (Monitoring and Delivery), Dr. Titilope Gbadamosi, stated that Nigeria’s investments in mobility, technology, clean energy transition, and digital innovation were designed to position young people as key drivers of future opportunities. She explained that the government is not only equipping youths with skills relevant for current jobs but also preparing them to lead Africa’s automotive future.

Gbadamosi noted that the country had already begun charting a path where young Nigerians would emerge as creators, innovators, and global competitors in the automotive industry. She emphasized that the continent’s future mobility landscape would be greatly influenced by the creativity and ingenuity of its youth.

Also speaking at the event, the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Chief Joseph Osanipin, highlighted the rapid pace of global innovation and stressed the need for Nigerian youths to keep up. He described young people as the engine room of national progress, pointing out that their growing influence is reshaping mobility, technology, ICT, and industrial development across Nigeria and the African continent.
