Fubara: Wike’s Discovery Made Me Speak Out Loud

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has publicly acknowledged the role of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in shaping his political career. Speaking on Friday while receiving the New Telegraph Man of the Year Award, Fubara expressed gratitude to Wike for discovering him and giving him a prominent voice in the state.

According to Ireporter Online, Fubara emphasized that without Wike’s support, he would not have assumed the governorship. “Without him, I wouldn’t be standing here as governor. He discovered me, and it’s a discovery that gave me this loudness,” Fubara stated, dedicating the award to both Wike and the people of Rivers State for their support and patience.

In a separate development, Governor Fubara appointed Onwuka Nzeshi as the new Chief Press Secretary, replacing Nelson Chukwudi, who was relieved of his duties. The state government did not provide a reason for Chukwudi’s dismissal.

Additionally, the governor dissolved the State Executive Council, relieving all Special Advisers of their appointments. The decision was communicated in a Government Special Announcement issued in Port Harcourt and conveyed to journalists by the newly appointed Chief Press Secretary.
