Gbajabiamila Reacts To Report Of Money Budgeted For Renovation Of His Residence In 2024 Budget

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has refuted online reports claiming a substantial budget allocation for the renovation of his residence in the 2024 Appropriation Bill.

Dismissing the circulated information on social media, including allegations of a N10 billion budget for his residence renovation and another N10.1 billion for computer software, Gbajabiamila clarified that there is no provision for his residence in the bill. He emphasized that he resides in a private apartment.

Gbajabiamila clarified that the quoted amount pertains to the renovation of the Presidential Quarters in Dodan Barracks and the Vice President’s Lodge in Lagos. The renovation aims to upgrade information management and communication facilities within the Presidency to align with contemporary standards, along with providing vehicles for Presidency staff.

“It has become necessary to clarify that there is no provision in the 2024 Appropriation Bill for the renovation of any residence for the Chief of Staff to the President. I live in my private residence,” he wrote.

Gbajabiamila said healthy public debate about government actions requires responsibility and engagement based on facts rather than insinuations.
