According to Ireporter Online, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has expressed strong confidence in securing victory in the forthcoming governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State.

Pantami made the statement during an interview on TVC on Sunday, where he emphasized that his confidence is based on verifiable evidence rather than personal opinion.

He explained that the evidence he relies on includes both physical and online opinion polls conducted across different platforms, noting that he emerged first in all 13 polls recorded.

The former minister also highlighted his long-standing involvement in the APC and his contributions to the formation and growth of the party, as well as his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.

“I’m not just a member of APC, but I’m also a party leader. President Tinubu appointed me as a special adviser in his campaign council for the 2023 election and addressed me as a party leader,” he stated.

Pantami further recalled his role in the political merger that led to the formation of the APC, involving the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) around 2010.

He maintained that his optimism ahead of the primary is grounded in what he described as “strong evidence,” insisting that opinion cannot override facts.

“This evidence is the polls that have been conducted physically and also online. In each and every one of them, about 13 in total, I emerged as number one, with all sense of humility. You may wish to verify what I have said,” he added.

He further attributed his popularity to what he described as his modest contributions while serving as Minister, stating that he did his best for Nigeria in general and Gombe State in particular during his tenure.
