Gov Okpebholo Empowers Royalty – Three Traditional Rulers Receive Staff of Office!

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has officially presented the Staff of Office to the newly installed Okuokpellagbe of Okpella, His Royal Majesty, Michael Eshioronoya Olorunfemi Sado, in Etsako East Local Government Area.

In a related development, the Edo State Executive Council has withdrawn the appointment of Zaiki Ehi-Douglas Lucky Ehidiamen as the acting Onojie of Okhuesan in Esan South East Local Government Area. A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, explained that Ehidiamen was initially appointed as a regent due to the minority of the rightful heir.

His regency, which lasted 18 years, has now ended, leading to the formal installation of HRH Lucky Ehichioya Imhadojiemu as the substantive Onojie of Okhuesan, with effect from April 30, 2025.

Similarly, the state government has also presented the Staff of Office and a letter of appointment to HRH Ehinomen Aigbojie as the new Onojie of Onogholo, also in Esan South East LGA.

The government congratulated the newly installed monarchs and urged them to uphold integrity and foster peace, unity, and development within their respective communities.
