The interim council, comprising nine members with seven possessing voting powers, aims to address Haiti’s political and security crises. Its responsibilities include appointing a new cabinet, establishing a provisional electoral commission, and forming a national security council, crucial steps for stabilizing the country and organizing future elections.
Haiti has been grappling with security challenges since February, marked by coordinated attacks in the capital, Port-au-Prince, and surrounding areas.
