Health Provider Expands Care With Brand-New Dialysis Centre

According to Ireporter Online, a multi-speciality healthcare provider, R-Jolad Hospital, has expanded its specialist medical offerings with the establishment of a new dialysis centre at its Gbagada facility in Lagos State. The development is aimed at enhancing access to quality renal care and strengthening comprehensive, patient-centred treatment for individuals living with kidney-related conditions in Nigeria.

The new dialysis unit, which is expected to commence public operations on April 27, forms part of the hospital’s broader strategy to deliver integrated healthcare services and improve treatment outcomes for patients requiring renal support. The facility is designed to ensure that patients can access continuous care within a single healthcare system, thereby improving convenience and clinical efficiency.

Chronic kidney disease continues to pose a significant public health challenge in Nigeria, affecting millions of people while access to renal replacement therapy remains limited. Health experts note that expanded dialysis services are crucial in reducing complications, morbidity, and mortality associated with the condition.

Speaking on the development, the Managing Director of R-Jolad Hospital, Dr. Funsho Oladipo, stated that the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to evolving healthcare delivery in line with patients’ needs. He emphasized that the hospital is also prioritising affordability to ensure that more patients can access life-saving treatment without excessive financial burden.

To ensure quality service delivery, R-Jolad Hospital has entered into a strategic partnership with Osiris Health, operators of Life Support Medical Centre, one of Nigeria’s pioneer dialysis providers established in 1986. The collaboration brings decades of clinical expertise in renal care and is expected to enhance treatment standards through advanced infrastructure and established medical protocols.

The Chief Executive Officer of Osiris Health, Ayoola Oladipupo, noted that the partnership would broaden access to specialised kidney care across a wider patient base while leveraging a trusted healthcare system.

In addition, the hospital announced that dialysis sessions at the facility will be offered at a subsidised rate of N35,000 per session, a measure aimed at easing the financial strain on patients requiring long-term treatment.

R-Jolad Hospital, founded in 1982, operates a 275-bed multi-speciality healthcare system across Lagos and Port Harcourt, offering a wide range of medical services supported by modern diagnostic and treatment facilities. The institution stated that the new dialysis centre aligns with its mission to improve healthcare outcomes through innovation, partnerships, and clinical excellence.
