President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent attacks by gunmen in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, and Kahir village in Kaduna State. According to official statements from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the incidents as barbaric and cowardly acts that violate the values of Nigeria.

Speaking on Tuesday, Tinubu referred to the perpetrators as “heartless cowards,” emphasizing that targeting defenceless citizens in Jos and Kaduna is intended to incite further violence. He assured Nigerians that those responsible will face justice.

The President has instructed security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the attackers and to counter the spread of misinformation that could escalate tensions. He also cautioned some media outlets against framing the attacks as religiously motivated.

Tinubu reiterated the importance of public cooperation with security directives, including evacuation and relocation procedures, and praised the safe return of two victims from Kaduna. The President commended the efforts of Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State in containing the violence and supporting rescue operations. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased, prayers for the recovery of the injured, and affirmed his administration’s commitment to equipping security agencies with advanced tools to track and neutralize criminals in real time.
