According to Ireporter Online, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially commenced his second term in office following a swearing-in ceremony held on Tuesday at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the Anambra State capital. The event drew an array of high-profile attendees, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku, and the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, among other dignitaries and state governors.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had earlier declared Soludo the winner of the November 8, 2025, governorship election. Contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), he secured 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 99,445 votes, and Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party, who came third with 37,753 votes.

INEC confirmed that a total of 16 candidates contested the election, with 598,229 voters accredited out of 2,788,864 registered voters. Across the 21 local government areas, 595,298 votes were cast, with 11,244 votes rejected. Soludo achieved a clean sweep, winning in all local government areas of the state, solidifying his dominance in Anambra’s political landscape and securing a renewed mandate to continue his administration.
