How Dog Killed 5-Month-Old Baby At Mother’s Back In Osun
Nafisat Muideen, the mother of the 5-month-old baby tragically killed by an Alsatian dog at Hallelujah Estate in Osogbo, Osun State, on Wednesday, expressed her anguish at the lack of timely assistance during the attack.
The grieving mother, aged 28, recounted her harrowing experience while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria at her residence in Osogbo on Thursday.
She explained that the attack occurred around 1:45 p.m. as she was on her way to a pharmacy to buy medication for her sick daughter. On her way to the pharmacy, she heard a noise behind her, and when she turned around, the dog pounced on her and attacked the baby who was on her back.
According to Mrs. Muideen, the dog forcibly pulled the baby from her back, and as she tried to save her child, she was overpowered by the large dog.

Unfortunately, there was nobody around to help during the attack. By the time people came to her rescue, the dog had already killed her baby.
She tearfully explained that her baby had previously suffered from a cold, which she had contracted, and she had gone out to get medicine for both herself and the baby.
After the attack, she was taken to a nearby hospital and later to the police clinic in Oke-Fia, Osogbo, for treatment.
Mr. Oyegbade Muideen, the victim’s husband, demanded to know the identity of the dog’s owner.
Adekola Timothy, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer for the Osun State command, confirmed the incident, stating that the police are currently searching for the owner of the dog.
It was reported that the killer dog had escaped from its enclosure in an unfinished building near the victim’s house, and the owner of the unfinished building was unknown to the area’s residents.
