I Was Once a Womanizer – Actor Daniel Etim-Effiong Opens Up

Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has revealed that he once lived a womanizing lifestyle, though he emphasized it was for a brief period and served as a lesson in personal growth.

In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the engineer-turned-actor admitted to having dated multiple women simultaneously at one point in his life. While Etim-Effiong described that phase as one of “exploration,” he noted that it didn’t bring the fulfilment he had expected.

“Maybe there was a period in my life that I explored. So, perhaps,” he said when asked if he had ever been a womanizer. “They were periods of learning for me. If I learned, then they were good periods.”

Etim-Effiong stressed that being a “player” might appear attractive in theory but often leads to unfulfilling experiences in reality.

“On paper, it feels like that is the life, but experientially maybe not,” he explained. “Certain things don’t necessarily bring you the fulfilment that you think they would.”

He also cautioned young people about developing habits that could hinder their ability to commit in long-term relationships or marriage.

“If you develop that habit or lifestyle, you won’t automatically change overnight,” he warned. “If before you got married, it was easy for you to just walk away or keep different relationships, that won’t change when you get married.”

Etim-Effiong, who is known for his roles in films like Plan B and The Men’s Club, has become increasingly vocal on social issues, using his platform to share personal experiences that highlight values such as commitment, self-awareness, and emotional maturity.
