President Bola Tinubu has commended the ongoing 2026 All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries across the country, describing the exercise as a clear demonstration of internal democracy and active grassroots participation within the ruling party.

According to Ireporter Online, the President made the remarks on Saturday shortly after casting his vote at the APC presidential primaries held in Ikoyi-Obalende Ward L2, Lagos State.

Tinubu stated that the process reflected the active involvement of party members at the grassroots level in selecting leaders and representatives, noting that the exercise had been conducted in an orderly and peaceful manner.

The President arrived at the voting venue alongside the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, where they were received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole, former Minister of Finance Wale Edun, and other party stakeholders.

He also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to sustaining inclusive democratic practices that allow members freely choose candidates for various positions.

The President also commended electoral officials, party leaders, and security agencies for maintaining peace and order during the exercise nationwide, urging Nigerians to continue supporting democratic institutions and national unity.
